...And I Thought We Were Done

It’s pretty clear by now that anyone who’s anyone has a twitter account {it's the best why to find out what’s going on in the world}. How else do you think I found out about another Fast and Furious coming out??? Actor and singer Tyrese Gibson is not afraid to share with his fans his upcoming projects. Besides working on Transformers 3, he can add Fast and the Furious, which will actually be called Fast 5, to his belt.

Now, in the beginning I was a little perturbed about a 5th fast and furious. For those who don’t remember Fast and Furious, the 2009 version ended the perfect way. Why would you want to mess with fate? But when I found out that Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Tyrese Gibson, and Ludacris are all starring in part 5, I started to feel differently towards this new production. I'm still confused as to why Tyrese and Ludacris are back in the picture.

According to IMDB Dwayne Johnson {the Rock} will be playing the detective/ex-bounty hunter that’s after Dom and Brain.

My only plea is, if their going to do it, do it right. I don’t want to see Letty popping back into the picture or that other guy, Han Lue {from Tokyo Drift} the last time I watched the movie he died at the end.

I hope Justin Lin and his team know what their doing... LOL

upcoming features

I'm starting to think 2010 will be a good year for Hollywood in my eyes. To my surprise George Clooney will be gracing us with his pressence on the big screen again. Stepping away from the love song and drives head first into the action with his new movie The American.

The American {release Sept 1, 2010} is simply about an assassin on his last mission in Italy. I'm excited...why? Because I love Mr. Clooney, he is hot! Oh yeah, he's acting not that bad either. Lol

Now, you remember Ben Afflek right? Casey Afflek brother? The guy that everyone says can't act? Well he's coming out with a new production called The Town and it looks good. Now I never had a problem with Ben Affleks' acting but I do think he's better behind the scenes. The Town {release Sept 10, 2010}, set in Boston, is about a bank robber who falls for a bank manager him and his crew kidnapped. Based off the previews the credits might just fall in love with Mr. Afflek.

the saga continues...

I finally got my chance to see Eclipse {the wait has been long over due}!

First let me say that I was highly impressed. Out of all the books, eclipse is my least favorite. Now don’t get me wrong, the book was good but it can’t hold a candle to any of the other 3 books {sorry}

At this moment I am going to be jumping around so please bear with me....

The scenes were Victoria goes in for the kill with Riley is horrible. I’m being honest, I hated it! I could barely tell if she bit or scratched Riley. I understand that vampires are so fast that you can’t see them {until they want you to} but we all knew it was Victoria. They could have showed her bright red hair or something.

Let me just say… its time to get some new teams going. Like team Alicia, did you see her when they were practicing for the war? She is the bomb! Don’t forget she can throw a pretty good party. And team Jasper, come to find out he actually talks. Plus Jasper and Alicia are a way cooler couple then Edward and Bella {just my opinion}. Now, let’s not forget about Emmitt, the Cullen brother that gets down played, he was looking really good in Eclipse.

Now I really love the fact that they’d showed how out of control the baby vampires where. Something you really don’t get a chance to see in the book. Another plus was having Bella sphere herself to save Edward just like one of the Quileute women did for her husband that was a werewolf. Do you remember this scene? Jacob took Bella to hear their tribe story and the woman stabbed herself so the blood would distract the vampire? Well yeah… Edward was about to be destroyed by Riley & Victoria and Bella slit her risk to save him… it was so romantic.

Speaking of romance, the way Edward proposed to Bella was so sweet… but anyway… the back and forth between Edward and Jacob was really getting on my nerves.

I knew it was coming {based on the book} but to see it on screen was annoying. Like pick a side and stick with it already, gosh! I must say Eclipse did give me a new found respect for Edward. I actually saw how he truly loved Bella and would do anything for her. I even consisted to move to team Edward {only for a split second}.

If you’d noticed I haven’t commented on Kristen Stewarts acting… surprisingly she didn’t get on my nerves, I actually enjoyed her. Maybe she’s growing on me :-/

All in all, another two thumbs up for the Twilight saga… Can’t wait for Breaking Dawn to come out, even though their turning it into a 2 part film {something I’m not happy about} but we can talk about that later. You can check for me on #teamJacob & #teamCullenfamily

.... And I'm Back....

Hello to all my cyber freaks and google geeks... its been awhile :-) So I just got home from seeing Eclipse and I must admit it didn't let me down the way I thought it would {we'll get into that later}. But what inspired me to blog again were the previews for upcoming films. I must say that Hollywood has really impressed me! I can't wait to see the following:

RED {starring Bruce Willis, Mary-Louise Parker, Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich, & Helen Mirren} is a film about retired CIA agents who find themselves getting back into the game. Why wouldn't you want to see it? Beside the fact that there will be excessive violence: fighting guns and blood... you get to see Helen Mirren, Morgan Freeman and Bruce Willis on the screen together. How awesome is that?

CHARLIE ST.CLOUD {starring Zac Efron, Amanda Crew, Ray Liotta} is a film about a young sailor who loses his brother in a car accident but manages to have contact with him long after his death. Let me just state that a flood of emotion came over me while watching the preview, I wanted to cry.

NARNIA: THE VOYAGE OF THE DAWN TREADER starring the usual... what can I say I'm a sucker for GOOD sagas.

THE KIDS ARE JUST all RIGHT { starring Julianne Moore, Annette Bening, and Mark Ruffalo} is a film about a lesbian couple who goes to a sperm bank to conceive their children. One way or the other the children get in contact with their quote on quote sperm donor and end up building a relationship. I honestly believe this film will be the most talked about. It touches on so many issues going on in today’s society: the un-conservative family. A gay and lesbian couple raising children who are adopted or artificially inseminated… I can see the media frenzy building up now. And, not to mention a couple of awards.

EASY A {starring Emma Stone and Amanda Bynes} is a film about a high school student, I think, that pretends to have sex with guys to make them look good to the public. It starts off as a favor for a friend but turns into a business. Meanwhile rumors are being spread that she's a whore but instead of telling people the truth she embraces the rumors being speard about her... now, how many people have the power to do that? It might not sound like a good movie but its Emma Stone, she’s funny as hell.

All -n- all these upcoming months are looking good for Hollywood... at least in my eyes!

Golden Globe Noms 2010

So I definitely have a special interest in this years Golden Globe and another other film award show this year... 2009 has been a good year for the film industry {there's been one good production after another}. Precious: Based on the novel Push is up for 3 nominations: Best Drama, Best Actress in a Drama, and Best Supporting Actress {shout out to Mo'Nique for doing her thing, even though I still haven't seen the movie [shame on me...smh]}. Another interestin film {that I have yet to see} is Clint Eastwood Invictus. Its also running for 3 nominations: Best Actor. Director, and Supporting Actor. I really would love to see Morgan Freeman walk away with a Golden Globe, he played the role of Nelson Mandela for crying out loud! I am sad to see that Twilight saga New Moon wasn't up for any nominates :-[ but anyway on to the next...

I am glad to see that a few of my favorite TV series are up for some nominations... such as Big Love on HBO and House on FOX.

Note: I didn't only look for films and TV shows that hold my interest. I also looked to see what the films and/or TV shows the Golden Globe can put me on to. I've taken a special interest in Kevin Bacons' Taking Chance on HBO {#1 its Kevin Bacon, #2 its HBO [On a good day its hard to pick with one should be #1]}.

DELTA BLUES

George Clooney is the executive producer of TNTs new pilot Delta Blues, a show about an unusual Memphis cop who happens to be an Elvis impersonator and lives at home with his mother. Jason Lee, who had the leading role in 'My Name is Earl' but you probably will know him from 'Alvin and the Chipmunks' better, will be main character Dwight Hendricks. Alfre Woodard was chosen to star on the new show, but I'm unclear on who her character is.

Now, I have some concerns. TNT is well know for producing quality drama television series: Saving Grace, The Closer, & Leverage (just to name a few) but this new show Delta Blues doesn't seem to fit in the 'drama' category. Jason Lee is the leading man for crying out loud, that has comedy written all over it! TNT hasn't let me down yet and hopefully they won't start now!

'OMAN.......O Man'

Debbie Allen, who starred in Fame (both the late 80s and 2009), put together a musical for the Arabesque Festival about Middle East culture through the eye's of two 12 year old boys. Allen's project has caught the eye of several people and couldn't have come at a better time. There is an gala opening tonight of 'OMAN....O Man' at the Kennedy Center. If Allen does decided to tour the U.S., it'll be one musical I'm definitely trying to see. Check out the links from CNN.com

Timothy Olyphant

I was watching Live Free or Die Hard, for the second or third time, and just realized who Timothy Olyphant was! How dumb am I right? I guess...but every movie he plays in he looks different. And I'm pretty good at noticing people, its like my thing, you can say. He's like Johnny Deep without the make up. I feel in love with him in Catch and Release with Jennifer Garner. If you didn't see it, watch it! But anyway, some movies you should have noticed him in: Gone in 60 Seconds, Scream 2, Live Free or Die Hard and The Girl Next Door, just to name a few. But, to get my point across, he's a wonderful actor and should be looking at more nominations that should lead to wins.

Media 3 Films

A lot of people are bashing twitter...but its definitely has its good side with me. I was twitting actor Brian White last night and found out that he has his own production company, along with director & producer Sylvain White and actor & producer Boris Kodjoe. Their production company is based out in California, of course. I love how they incorporated the "hear no, speak no, see no evil" theme into their company.

Bonus: Media 3 Films accepts screenplay of all genres, so don't be a punk, get your stuff out there!

Spot Light On...

Jeffrey Wright is one of the most unexposed actors of his time. He's played several keys roles in Lady in the Water, Cadillac Records, Quantum of Solace, a James Bond movie, just to name a few. Check him out America... don't sleep on him! Jeffrey Wright is the real deal... a true A-list actress.
